About T-shirts & polo shirts
Choose according to how the garment will be used. A light cotton t-shirt is cool during a long event day, a heavier quality keeps its shape after many washes and gives the print a stable surface. Technical polyester shirts from Craft suit training, team sports and wellness. For the polo shirt the choice is mostly about quality and fit: classic cotton pique, pique with stretch or a blend with polyester that creases less. Feel free to order size samples before the whole team is equipped.
The garments can be marked with embroidery, transfer printing, full colour print, screen printing or a patch, and the placement is chosen on the product page, usually chest, back or sleeve. We suggest a method according to garment, logo and quantity. You approve a digital proof before production starts, and the logo is saved so that the next order is the same. The price of the decoration is calculated on all garments with the same decoration in the order, across sizes and models, so five S and ten M count as fifteen.
Fabric weight, combed cotton and pique: what the words mean
The fabric weight is stated in grams per square metre, g/m². A t-shirt of around 140 to 160 g/m² is light and airy, while 180 to 220 g/m² gives a denser fabric that keeps its shape and carries print well. Combed cotton has had the short fibres combed out, which gives a smoother and stronger yarn. Ring spun cotton is spun into a denser and more even yarn that feels softer. Pique is a knit with small raised squares that breathes and keeps its shape in the collar. The product page shows material and fabric weight when the supplier has specified them.
Embroidery or print on t-shirts and polo shirts
Embroidery suits the polo shirt: the knit has enough thickness to carry the stitches, and an embroidered chest logo normally lasts as long as the garment. On thin t-shirts the fabric can pucker around an embroidery, so print is usually better there. Screen printing gives the lowest unit price for larger runs and logos in few colours, since each colour requires its own screen. Transfer printing suits small quantities and technical fabrics, and full colour print reproduces logos with many colours and gradients.
Fit and sizes for the whole team
Most models are available in women's and men's models, and several also as unisex or in children's sizes. The size range varies per model and is shown on the product page, and several t-shirts and polo shirts are available up to 4XL or 5XL. Unisex often becomes a compromise for someone in the team, so offer both models when the group is mixed. With a company portal the size is saved per person, so that the reorders are right without a new fitting.
Frequently asked questions about t-shirts & polo shirts
Which minimum quantity applies to printed t-shirts?
Stocked garments without decoration have no minimum quantity. For decoration, what applies per method is stated in the quote. Transfer printing, full colour print and embroidery suit small quantities, while screen printing pays off on larger runs. For embroidery under 50 pcs a setup cost is added, which is shown as a separate line in the quote.
Should we choose embroidery or print on the polo shirt?
Embroidery is the first choice on polo shirts. The pique knit carries the stitches well, and an embroidered logo on the chest withstands washing as long as the garment. Print can be better when the logo has many colours or thin details, or when the polo shirt is in a thin technical fabric. The proof shows placement, size and colours before anything is produced.
How does the proof work before print and embroidery?
You get a digital proof that shows the logo's placement, size, colours and method on the chosen garment. You request changes in the proof until it is right. Marked garments do not go into production until the proof is approved, and what you have approved is what is produced. The logo is saved so that reorders are the same.
Are polo shirts and t-shirts available in a women's model?
Yes, most models are available in both women's and men's models, and several also as unisex. The women's models often have a tapered fit. Children's sizes are available in some models. The sizes are shown per product, and with a company portal the size is saved per person so that the next order is right.
Are t-shirts and polo shirts available in organic cotton?
Yes. Several models are made of organic cotton or of organic cotton blended with recycled polyester, for example from James Harvest and Untagged Movement. The product page states the material and any certification, such as OCS or Oeko-Tex, when the supplier has documented it.
How long does a print on a t-shirt last?
Screen printing settles into the fabric and withstands the most washes of the prints. Transfer printing and full colour print lie as a thin layer and hold up well in normal washing when the garment is turned inside out. Embroidery withstands the most wear but requires a thicker fabric. Follow the garment's care advice, and the decoration will last longer.
